The Trainers are Gone!

Yesterday Alex started riding without his training wheels! It's amazing how fast kids learn. He was pretty shaky to begin with but is getting better. Tonight when he tried it he figured out how to push off on his own instead of Henry or me having to hold him up when he starts. The only thing he needs to work on now is staying on his bike for longer periods of time. He will get up and go for 5 or 10 seconds and then stop. When he has to try a couple of times to get the bike started again he says "Mom, this thing isn't working" - like it's all the bikes fault, stupid bike! :)

On Monday the Ice cream Man came into our cul-de-sac. Alex was so excited (I might have been a little excited myself)! I remember what a special treat it was to get ice cream from the ice cream man when I was young (which seems like forever ago). He picked out something with a blue dye in it that didn't wear off of his face until the next day. Even the Librarian asked about the blue mark around his mouth, nice.
