Excursions

We stopped at Belize, Honduras, Cozumel, and the Bahamas. We shopped in Belize and Honduras. They are 2 interesting countries. The downtown areas are run down and kind of scary. I think if we would have went further in (instead of just going to the shopping areas), it would have been nice, but it was sprinkling on and off so we stuck to shopping. A cop from South Carolina that we met on the tender (the little boat that takes you back and forth from the ship to shore) said that 12 grenades were stolen in Belize and 2 of them had already been set off downtown. He said that even the locals won't go downtown after dark - Nice.

Downtown Honduras

Henry talked the vendor down to $5 for those sunglasses... then he decided that he didn't like them.

These guys were playing right next to the boat. We asked if we could take a picture with them and the guy handed me his drum sticks. The one thing I noticed when I look back at this pic is how short the guys are compared to Henry. I guess only short guys play music :)

This is the stoplight in downtown Belize.



In Cozumel we went on a Jeep excursion. They pair you with another couple and you drive around the island to see the views, snorkel, go to a private beach to eat and swim, and do a little shopping. This is the couple that we were paired with, Linda and Lon. He was an Accountant from FL and conservative (thankfully or it would have been a long ride with Henry).

There were probably 14 couples or so on our excursion. Our tour guides, Pancho and Frito, were the best. They totally made the excursion. They memorized where everyone was from and that's how the referred to us. You can see Germany in the back of this photo in his speedo - yikes!

Me being the uncoordinated dork that I am, slipped on a rock before we started snorkeling and cut a gash in the bottom of my foot and scraped the top. Here is Pancho patching me up.

This picture was taken on the tender ride to NCL's Bahama Island.

We lounged around on big yellow floaties at the beach the whole afternoon. Henry took a couple of pieces of banana bread with us to feed the fish. It was amazing. Big tropical fish were swimming right up to the surface to eat right out of his hands. All of the snorkelers were coming over by us just so that they could see the fish.
