Halloween

For Halloween Alex was Batman and Abby was Abby Cadabby (the little fairy on Sesame Street).

Terry and Linda (Henry's parents) came over and handed out candy for us while we took the kids out trick-or-treating. We had homemade pizza before hand made by Stephanie Brandt. Henry says that it's his all time favorite pizza. Thanks for the pizza Steph!

Alex loved trick-or-treating! We took the double stroller out in case the kids got tired of walking.

Abby got candy at the first couple of houses and then rode the rest of the way. She plopped one sucker after another in her mouth and happily rode along without a peep. She was a sticky mess at the end of the night, but that's ok, Halloween only comes once a year.
Alex would ride in the stroller between homes and then run up to the door and say "Happy Halloween" as loud as he could. If they took too long getting him candy he would repeat "Happy Halloween" two or three times until he had his candy. Then he would run as fast as he could back down the driveway, sit in the stroller, and wait for Henry to push him over to the next driveway. I had to continually remind him to say thank you. He finally started to remember towards the end and would give us a report of what they said back to him after he said thank you.
I couldn't believe all of the candy he got! Next year I think we should take Alex and Abby out trick-or-treating as early as we can and then use the candy that he gets as our trick-or-treating candy!

Every year we keep a tally of the number of trick-or-treaters we get. We usually get around 100 or so. When the weather was colder the number was down a little. This year we got 26 - ONLY 26! We couldn't believe it! I think it was because our cul-de-sac wasn't lit very well so it looked dark. They probably thought that no one was giving out candy so it wasn't worth walking down there. RATS!

Glad the pizza turned out ok. Thanks for all the candy and the googly eye glasses -- Bri especially loves putting them on! Glasses are always a hit. Hopefully next year we can get together again for Halloween!
